Edo Police Arrest Four in Communal Clash Operation

The Edo State Police Command arrested four suspects linked to a communal clash in Uselu Ahor Community, Uhunmwond Local Government Area. The arrests were made during a coordinated operation led by Eno Ikoedem, the command's public relations officer, who disclosed that the suspects were identified as Jabir Saleh, Musa Lawal (also known as Gambo Gaddafi), Iliyas Salau, and Haliru.

The operation, which took place following violent clashes that resulted in property destruction and residents fleeing their homes, recovered two AK-47 rifles and two loaded magazines containing 33 rounds of live ammunition. The police had deployed an intervention squad on February 18, 2026, to enhance intelligence-driven surveillance in the area.

Following the arrests, the police assured displaced residents of adequate security measures to facilitate their return home. The suspects will face charges in court upon the conclusion of the investigation, reaffirming the police command's commitment to maintaining peace across Edo State.
