Kwara Police Arrest Four for Grave Robbing and Rituals

The Kwara State Police Command arrested four men in connection with two incidents involving the removal of human heads from graves and possession of suspected human hands intended for money-making rituals. Commissioner of Police Ojo Adekimi announced the arrests on October 10, 2026.
In the first incident, Abu Jimoh and Ayo Jimoh were apprehended on October 8, 2026, while allegedly digging graves in Omupo, Kwara State, where missing heads were discovered in May 2026. They confessed and implicated herbalist Mukaila Bello as the buyer of the heads.
In a separate case, Kamalden Lukmon and AbdulGaniyu Ibrahim were arrested on the same day after police found two suspected human hands along Bakase Road in Alapa. Preliminary interrogations revealed their intention to use the hands for rituals, and they claimed a vigilante member, Abdulraf Apata, had given them the body parts.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the identity of the victim and the circumstances of their death.
