Police Arrest Two Officers for Theft at Ondo Hospital

The Ondo State Police Command arrested two security officers, Promis Godspow and Pogbara Sigalo, in connection with vandalism and theft at the Ondo State General Hospital located in Igbotako, Okitipupa Local Government Area. The incident occurred on May 6, 2026, when citizens reported that Promis Godspow had unlawfully accessed the hospital premises, vandalizing electrical installations and stealing electrical cables.

DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the police spokesperson, stated that the actions caused serious damage to government property meant for public service delivery. Following credible intelligence, police deployed to the scene conducted a preliminary investigation, collecting evidence including photographs of the damage.

During interrogation, Godspow confessed to the crime, revealing negligence on the part of the security personnel, Sigalo, who reportedly abandoned his duty post, allowing the crime to occur. Both suspects are in police custody, and investigations are ongoing to determine if there were any accomplices involved.

They are expected to face charges in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
