Woman Arrested for Allegedly Abusing Minor in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command arrested 36-year-old Anulika Onyeanusia on September 11 after a video surfaced online allegedly showing her sexually abusing a child with sex toys. Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the arrest, stating that officers rescued four children aged two, three, six, and nine during the operation in Onitsha.

Items related to the investigation, including sex toys, were recovered at the scene. Onyeanusia is also being investigated for alleged child pornography.

Her husband has been taken in for questioning to determine his potential involvement. Anambra Commissioner Nnanna Ama condemned the incident, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation and assuring that the rescued children would receive appropriate care and support.

The police will collaborate with child-protection agencies to ensure the children's privacy and recovery. The incident highlights the serious legal implications of child sexual exploitation under Nigerian law, which prescribes severe penalties for such offenses.
