Police Arrest 14 in Port Harcourt Robbery Syndicate Bust

The Rivers State Police Command announced the arrest of 14 suspects involved in a one-chance robbery and kidnapping syndicate terrorizing Port Harcourt and its surroundings. The operation, led by Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju, was prompted by numerous public complaints regarding criminal activities.

The initial arrest occurred on August 18, 2026, when Nelson Idakiniselegha, aka Mandela, was apprehended at a hideout on Niger Street. Subsequent investigations led to the arrests of Michael Matthew, aka Pilot, on August 23, 2026, and others including Kelly Edison, aka BTC, and Daniel Obodo, aka Mazi.

The suspects, some of whom are linked to cultism, were found with a Keke mini-bus and 16 stolen mobile phones. Adepoju confirmed that the syndicate operated in various locations within Port Harcourt, including Garrison and Aba Road.
