Police File Charges Against Property Developer Over Ikoyi Plot Dispute

The Inspector General of Police filed five criminal charges against businessman Alhaji Hame Kasumu and his company, King County Property Investment Limited, at the Lagos State High Court. The charges relate to alleged forcible entry, unlawful possession, and conspiracy concerning a property at 15 Alexander Avenue in Ikoyi.

The case stems from a complaint lodged by Muhammadu Dahiru Wada, with the prosecution citing provisions of the Lagos State Criminal Law and Property Protection Law. Kasumu's company is accused of trespass, intimidation, and illegal occupation despite Wada's legal ownership rights.

The dispute involves a court judgment favoring Kasumu's company for a different property, leading to the current legal battle.
