Bauchi Police Recover Eight Cows from Cattle Rustlers

On Thursday, the Bauchi State Police Command successfully foiled an attempt by suspected cattle rustlers to steal eight cows in the Darazo Local Government Area. The operation was initiated following a tip-off received at approximately 2:58 AM from a vigilant resident.

The report indicated that the suspects were loading cows into a Chevrolet saloon car with registration number DAS 452 NE. Upon arrival, police operatives discovered two cows already loaded in the vehicle, while six others were tethered nearby.

The suspects fled upon seeing the police, abandoning both the vehicle and the cattle. The police secured the Chevrolet and the eight cows as exhibits and later released the cattle to their rightful owner on bond.

Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu commended the resident for their prompt action and urged the public to report suspicious activities to security agencies, reaffirming the command's commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and livestock in the state.
