Police Arrests Made After Peter Obi's Convoy Blockade

The Benue State Command of the Nigeria Police Force reported arrests connected to the blockade of Peter Obi's convoy on Tuesday. Police Commissioner Cletus Nwadiogbu disclosed this during a press briefing on Wednesday, defending the officers' actions as professional and tactical to prevent escalation that could lead to loss of life or property damage.

He stated that Obi was safely escorted to the airport after the incident, which involved a group obstructing his movement and creating tension. Nwadiogbu emphasized that the police's stance should not be interpreted as inaction and reiterated that every Nigerian has the right to freedom of movement, regardless of political affiliation.

While he did not specify the number of arrests made, he assured the public that all responsible individuals would face legal consequences. The Commissioner urged the public to remain calm as investigations continue.
