Benue Police Gun Down Robbery Kingpin, Recover AK-47 Rifle in Makurdi Operation

The Benue State Police Command successfully neutralized a robbery kingpin during a gun duel operation in Makurdi. The suspect, identified as Aondoakaa Yayol, was wanted for the assassination of local hunter Aondoakaa Yayol and his wife in 2023 and 2025, respectively.

The police recovered weapons, including an AK-47 rifle, from the deceased suspect. The suspect sustained gunshot wounds during the encounter and later died at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital.

The police spokesperson urged residents to report any criminal activities to ensure the safety of lives and properties in the state.
