Kaduna Police Seize Counterfeit Notes, Firearms, Vehicles

The Kaduna State Police Command has successfully recovered 332 pieces of suspected counterfeit $100 notes, nine locally fabricated firearms, a pump-action rifle, and two stolen vehicles during separate operations across Kaduna State. Three suspects were apprehended in connection with the recovery of a black GMK Jeep valued at N70 million, which they intended to sell for N4 million after dismantling it for spare parts.

This information was disclosed in a statement by Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police. The operations were part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and ensure the safety of residents, particularly farmers.

On August 31, at around 10 am, the police received reports of armed bandits disturbing farmers in the Kidandan area of Giwa Local Government Area. The Divisional Police Officer mobilized Police Mobile Force personnel and local vigilantes to confront the bandits, who fled after engaging with the security forces, abandoning a pump-action rifle and a motorcycle.

In another operation near Maraban Jos, police set up roadblocks based on intelligence about suspected gunrunners, leading to the recovery of nine fabricated firearms.
