Kaduna Police Recover Counterfeit Notes and Stolen Jeep

The Kaduna State Police Command conducted operations resulting in the recovery of 332 pieces of suspected counterfeit $100 notes, nine locally fabricated firearms, a pump-action rifle, and two stolen vehicles, including a black GMK Jeep valued at N70 million. The suspects intended to sell the Jeep for N4 million after dismantling it for spare parts.

This information was disclosed in a statement by Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police. The operations were part of ongoing efforts to enhance security for residents, particularly farmers.

On August 31, at around 10 am, the police received reports of armed bandits terrorizing farmers in the Kidandan area of Giwa Local Government Area. The Divisional Police Officer mobilized personnel from the Police Mobile Force and the Kaduna Vigilance Service to confront the bandits, who fled after engaging with the security forces.

During a separate operation near Maraban Jos, police set up roadblocks based on intelligence about gunrunners, leading to the recovery of additional firearms.
