Police Neutralize Four Suspected Secessionists in Anambra

On a Tuesday night, the Anambra State Police Command, led by spokesman Tochukwu Ikenga, conducted a security operation that resulted in the death of four suspected members of an armed gang identified as secessionists. This operation took place along Ogboji Ajal Road in Orumba South Local Government Area.

The police received credible intelligence regarding the movement of heavily armed individuals in the area, prompting the patrol. During the confrontation, the police recovered a cache of weapons, including a general-purpose machine gun, two AK-47 rifles, and various rounds of ammunition.

Additionally, four undetonated improvised explosive devices and other incriminating items were seized, including a stolen white Toyota Sienna vehicle, mobile phones, and ATM cards. Preliminary investigations indicated that some gang members fled into the surrounding bush with varying degrees of gunshot injuries.

The Anambra State Police Command reiterated its commitment to collaborating with security agencies to conduct proactive intelligence-led operations against criminal elements threatening peace and safety in the state.
