Delta Police Meet Oghara Monarchs to Tackle Kidnappings

On Monday, a high-level security meeting was convened by Delta State Police Commissioner Olufemi Oyeniyi at the Ovi Oghara Kingdom palace to address the alarming rise in kidnappings and insecurity in the Ethiope West Local Government Area. The meeting followed public outcry regarding violent attacks and kidnappings in the community.

Attendees included Christian Onogba, the chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Area, youth leaders, and representatives from various community groups. Concerns were raised about Oghara becoming a hotspot for organized crime, with reports of recent abductions, including a couple where the husband was allegedly killed despite ransom payment.

The meeting aimed to strategize on improving intelligence sharing and collaboration among police, judiciary, local government authorities, and community leaders to combat crime effectively. Oyeniyi assured residents that the Delta State Police Command would strengthen intelligence-led policing strategies to enhance public safety.
