Delta Police Arrest Four Suspected Kidnappers and Robbers

The Delta State Police Command arrested four suspects involved in kidnapping and robbery operations across the state. According to a statement by Police Public Relations Officer Bright Edaf, on June 23 at 3:00 PM, two suspects were apprehended following a report of an attempted robbery.

Preliminary investigations revealed that one suspect unlawfully entered a residential compound but fled upon being noticed. The swift action of community members led to the arrest of the suspect and his accomplice.

A search of the suspect's residence in Ugborikoko resulted in the recovery of a locally made pistol concealed inside a wardrobe. In a separate operation in Ughelli, two suspects, Iliyasu Hassan (16) and Idri Abdulkarim (32), were arrested on June 22 at 8:30 PM, linked to a failed kidnapping attempt that occurred on June 19.

The suspects were reportedly identified by a victim from an earlier kidnapping incident. Delta State Commissioner of Police Yemi Oyeniyi commended community vigilance and urged the public to continue providing credible information to the police.
