Oyo Police Recover Stolen Vehicle, Arrest Suspect in Gombe

The Oyo State Police Command successfully recovered a stolen vehicle reported missing on July 29, 2026, following a detailed investigation and intelligence-led operation. On August 3, 2026, the principal suspect, 21-year-old Daniel Chinada Obidiukwu, was arrested in Gombe State while in possession of the vehicle.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the operatives tracked the vehicle based on credible intelligence gathered during the investigation. Preliminary findings indicated that Obidiukwu had stolen the vehicle from Ibadan and transported it to Gombe State with the intent to sell it to an unsuspecting buyer.

The recovered vehicle was taken into police custody as evidence, and Obidiukwu remains in custody as investigations continue to identify any accomplices and further details surrounding the crime. The Commissioner of Police, CP Abimbola Olugbenga, praised the operatives for their professionalism and commitment to combating crime, assuring the public of ongoing efforts in intelligence-driven policing.
