Police Rescue 76 Kidnap Victims in Kaduna State

On August 19, 2026, at approximately 1730hrs, operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command rescued 76 kidnap victims in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State. The rescue operation was initiated following credible information from the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Birnin Gwari Branch, regarding the abduction of Fulani men, women, and children by armed men at Folwaya Village.

The victims were taken into a forest and hidden in a cave. A crack team from the Birnin Gwari Area Command was deployed to the location upon receiving the information.

Upon sighting the police, the abductors fled, leaving the victims behind, who were successfully rescued unharmed. CP Rabiu Muhammad, the Commissioner of Police for Kaduna State, commended the NURTW for their timely information and praised the Area Commander and his team for their swift response.

He urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police.
