Kaduna Police Rescue Kidnapped Victims in Ikara Operation

On September 8, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Kaduna State Police Command conducted a clearance operation in Ikara Local Government Area, responding to credible information about kidnappers in the Auchanawa and Wambai areas. The operation was led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ikara, in collaboration with members of the Vigilante Service and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

Upon arrival, the security team engaged in a gun duel with the suspected kidnappers, successfully dismantling their camp and rescuing two kidnapped victims unharmed. During the operation, two suspected kidnappers were neutralised, while several others fled with possible gunshot wounds.

Tragically, three CJTF members lost their lives, and two police officers sustained injuries and are receiving medical attention. Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Rabiu, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased CJTF members and wished the injured officers a speedy recovery, urging the public to provide timely information to aid ongoing operations against criminals.
