Delta Police Rescue Abducted Woman in Sapele

The Delta State Police Command announced the successful rescue of a woman who was abducted in Amukpe, Sapele Local Government Area. The incident occurred on Wednesday when the victim was approached by hoodlums as she attempted to enter her compound.

The suspects fired gunshots before taking her into a nearby bush. Following a distress report, SP Bright Edafe, the command’s spokesperson, stated that the Sapele Divisional Police Officer mobilized patrol and surveillance teams to the scene, where expended AK-47 ammunition shells were found.

An intensive search, supported by local vigilantes, was conducted throughout the night. On Thursday morning, sensing danger, the abductors abandoned the victim, who was rescued unharmed and has since reunited with her family.

Commissioner of Police Samuel Erale commended the efforts of the operatives and local vigilantes, emphasizing the command's commitment to combating crime and encouraging residents to provide timely information to security agencies.
