UAE Reveals Worker Injury Compensation Ranges

The UAE government has published official compensation figures for workers who sustain serious injuries on the job. Workers who suffer total or partial disability due to workplace injuries are entitled to compensation ranging from AED 18,000 to AED 200,000, equivalent to N6,483,038 to N72,033,764 in Nigerian naira.

This same compensation range applies to cases where injuries do not result in full loss of function, with the final amount depending on the extent of the disability. In instances where a worker dies due to a work-related injury, the compensation for the deceased's beneficiaries also falls within the AED 18,000 to AED 200,000 range.

This disclosure is particularly significant for the large number of Nigerian workers in the UAE, as it outlines the financial protections available to them in the event of a serious workplace accident. The compensation amounts indicate that the actual payout is not fixed and will vary based on the specific circumstances of each case.
