Police Rescue Kidnapped Woman in Sapele, Delta State

A woman was kidnapped from her residence in Sapele, Delta State, by gunmen who ambushed her as she attempted to drive into her compound along Eko Amukpe Road. The suspects fired shots into the air before taking her into a nearby bush.

Bright Edafe, the spokesperson for the Sapele Division of Police, reported that the police received a distress call regarding the incident and immediately mobilized patrol and surveillance teams to the scene, where they recovered expended AK-47 ammunition shells. In collaboration with local vigilantes, the police commenced a bush combing operation aimed at rescuing the victim.

Due to the sustained pressure from the police and vigilantes, the kidnappers abandoned their captive and fled. The woman was successfully rescued unharmed and has since been reunited with her family.

Efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects.
