Police Rescue 10-Year-Old in Sokoto Kidnapping Case

The Sokoto State Police Command successfully rescued a 10-year-old boy, Muhammad Sufiyanu, from kidnappers and arrested two suspects involved in the crime. The operation took place in Tangaza Local Government Area, where the boy was reported missing by his uncle, Sani Ibrahim, at the Gidan Madi Police Station.

The police conducted surveillance and intercepted two suspicious individuals on a motorcycle carrying a concealed sack, which contained the boy, alive and responsive. In a separate operation on August 8, the police arrested Abdullahi Buba, alias “Osho,” during an intelligence-led raid in Tudun Doki Village, Gwadabawa Local Government Area.

Buba confessed to being part of a notorious kidnapping syndicate responsible for multiple kidnappings and illegal levies in the region. The Commissioner of Police, Hayatu Shaffa, praised the officers for their commitment to protecting lives and urged community cooperation in reporting criminal activities.
