Police Rescue Two Abducted Victims in Zamfara Operation

The Zamfara State Police Command announced the successful rescue of two abducted persons and the neutralization of an armed bandit during an operation in the Talata Mafara Local Government Area on Sunday at approximately 2:30 PM. The operation was executed by a joint team comprising police tactical operatives, members of the Community Protection Guard, and the Civilian Joint Task Force.

While conducting the rescue along Tashar Lawali Village in the Kagara District, the team intercepted armed bandits on five motorcycles. The bandits opened fire on the security team, which responded with superior firepower, forcing the criminals to retreat.

One bandit was killed, and an AK-47 rifle with its magazine was recovered. The police reported no casualties among their forces and indicated that efforts to track the fleeing suspects and rescue additional victims were ongoing.

Commissioner of Police Ahmad Bello commended the joint team for their courage and assured residents of continued intelligence-led operations to dismantle criminal networks.
