Nigerian Police React to Court Order on Tinted-Glass Permit Enforcement

The Nigerian Police Force responded to reports of a court order halting the enforcement of tinted-glass permit regulations. The Force's Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, clarified that they had not been formally served the order from the Federal High Court in Warri, Delta State.

The court had directed the police to maintain the status quo on the tinted permit scheme pending the determination of the substantive case. This development follows a history of controversies surrounding the enforcement of the tinted permit scheme, which was previously suspended in 2022 but resumed in April 2023 under the Police Specialised Services Automation Project (POSSAP).
