Nigeria Police Enhances Complaint Response Unit for Transparency

The Nigeria Police Force is taking steps to enhance its Complaint Response Unit (CRU), which serves as the primary digital platform for receiving, tracking, and resolving citizen complaints. CSP Anietie Okokon Edem, the newly appointed Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), highlighted the CRU's significance during a courtesy visit to the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT council on Sunday.

He called for deeper collaboration with the media, stating that journalists are integral to the police family. Edem emphasized that informed reporting can empower the public to hold institutions accountable and support constructive reforms.

The NUJ FCT leadership, represented by Comrade Grace Ike, welcomed the initiative to enhance the CRU and expressed the council's readiness to collaborate with the police in this endeavor.
