Police Recover Stolen Jeep, Arrest Suspect in Delta State

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command successfully recovered a Ford Jeep that was allegedly stolen from Akpasak Estate in Uyo on August 13, 2026. The recovery occurred on August 27, 2026, when police arrested Bright Okon, an employee of a private security company, who was found in possession of the vehicle in Delta State.

The operation was initiated following a directive from the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, who ordered an investigation into the theft. Detectives utilized technology-driven investigative techniques to trace the vehicle from Akwa Ibom to Delta State, leading to Okon's arrest.

The recovered vehicle was taken to the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for further investigation. Ongoing investigations aim to determine how the vehicle was stolen and moved, as well as to identify other individuals connected to the theft.

CP Azare warned that the command would relentlessly pursue those involved in vehicle theft and urged the public to report suspicious activities.
