NPTF Launches Vocational Program for Police Families

On Monday, the Nigerian Police Trust Fund (NPTF) launched a vocational skills acquisition and empowerment program for the spouses of junior police officers in Abuja. The initiative, led by Executive Secretary Mohammed Sheidu, aims to improve the welfare of police families and enhance the operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.

This program is part of a broader effort to promote economic self-reliance among police families through vocational training and the distribution of start-up packs. Sheidu emphasized the importance of family support for police officers, stating that the welfare of officers is closely linked to their families' well-being.

The program is being implemented in selected states across Nigeria and aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for economic empowerment. Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu praised the initiative, noting that the spouses of junior officers play crucial roles in supporting them amid the challenges of policing.

He highlighted the need for improved welfare for police families to enhance service delivery.
