NPTF Launches Empowerment Programme for Police Spouses

The Nigerian Police Trust Fund (NPTF) has initiated a vocational skills acquisition and empowerment programme for spouses of junior police officers, unveiled in Abuja. Mohammed Sheidu, the executive secretary of the NPTF, stated that the programme aims to improve the welfare of police families and enhance the operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.

The initiative is designed to promote economic self-reliance through vocational training and the distribution of start-up packs. Sheidu emphasized that the welfare of police officers is closely linked to the well-being of their families, who make significant sacrifices.

He noted that while the NPTF invests in police training and infrastructure, empowering officers' families is crucial for building a stronger police institution. The programme is being implemented in selected states across Nigeria and aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on economic empowerment and inclusive development.

Sheidu urged beneficiaries to utilize the training and equipment effectively to establish successful businesses that can support their families.
