Police Trust Fund Calls for Partnerships to Enhance Security

On Thursday, the Nigerian Police Trust Fund convened a stakeholders’ engagement themed ‘strengthening partnerships for sustainable police development and national security.’ Mr. Mohammed F. Sheidu, the executive secretary of the Nigerian Police Trust Fund, emphasized the necessity for stronger and strategic partnerships to tackle ongoing challenges in funding, technology, manpower, infrastructure, and personnel welfare within the Nigerian Police Force.

The Trust Fund was established as an intervention agency aimed at supporting the training, welfare, equipment, and infrastructure needs of the police. Sheidu highlighted the increasing pressure on the Nigerian policing system due to the evolving nature of crime and called for collective action from stakeholders whose institutions and resources can contribute to enhancing policing and national security in Nigeria.
