NPTF Launches Program to Empower Spouses of Police Officers

The Nigerian Police Trust Fund (NPTF) launched a vocational skill acquisition program on Monday in Abuja, aimed at empowering the spouses of junior police officers. The initiative, led by NPTF Executive Secretary Mohan Sheidu, seeks to enhance the welfare of police families and strengthen the operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.

The program aligns with President Bola Tinubu's agenda for economic empowerment and development. It includes the distribution of starter packs to beneficiaries, designed to equip them with practical vocational skills necessary for building sustainable businesses and improving household livelihoods.

Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu emphasized the critical role of spouses in supporting police officers, who often face challenging circumstances. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by families and welcomed the initiative as a means to improve their livelihoods and promote self-reliance.

The program aims to create additional opportunities for sustaining family income and is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of police personnel and their families.
