Oluremi Tinubu Calls for Continued Public Service Engagement

On September 18, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu addressed the National Summit of the Forum of Former Presiding Officers of State Houses of Assembly of Nigeria in Abuja. She emphasized that leaving political office should not signify the end of public service, urging former legislative leaders to remain active in mentoring younger legislators and strengthening democratic institutions.

The summit also saw the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 general elections by the former Speakers and Deputy Speakers, who committed to mobilizing support for his re-election. Tinubu acknowledged the significant contributions these former leaders made to legislation and governance, urging them to utilize their wisdom and networks for national development.

She highlighted the administration's efforts to reposition the Nigerian economy and the importance of continuous nation-building for future generations.
