Peter Obi Calls for Prayers Against Political Corruption

During a worship service at Koinonia Global, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 election, called on Nigerians to pray for politicians to cease stealing public funds. Acknowledged by Apostle Joshua Selman, the founder of Eternity Network International, Obi expressed uncertainty about what to say but emphasized the need for prayers for political leaders.

He stated, “Politicians are the problem of the country. There is nothing wrong with the country, but the politicians are the issue.” Obi urged the congregation not to differentiate between politicians based on affiliations or performance, insisting that all political leaders require prayer.

He reflected on Nigeria's development compared to other nations that gained independence around the same time, recommending the book “Growing Apart” to illustrate how other countries have progressed. Obi concluded by stressing the importance of refraining from embezzling public funds to improve the nation's situation.
