ADC Supporters Protest INEC's Candidate Decision in Adamawa

A significant protest occurred in Yola, Adamawa State, as supporters of Ambassador Omar Suleiman expressed their discontent over the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) decision to list Hamman Tukur Modibbo Ribadu as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 Adamawa State Governorship Election. The protest was led by Abdulaziz Goje, who articulated the group's grievances at the party's state secretariat, emphasizing that the change was undemocratic and disregarded the electoral process outlined in the party's constitution.

Goje stated that a formal complaint had been submitted to both the ADC national headquarters and INEC to advocate for the reinstatement of Suleiman as the candidate. Hon. Sai’du Naira, the factional state chairman of the ADC, addressed the crowd, assuring them that their concerns would be communicated to the appropriate authorities.

He pledged to mobilize supporters for a follow-up in response to their letter.
