João Pedro Named Premier League Player of the Month

Chelsea forward João Pedro has been awarded the Premier League Player of the Month for August 2026, following a remarkable start to the 2026/27 season. The Brazilian attacker was among eight players shortlisted for the EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Month award.

He played a crucial role in Chelsea's victories in their opening league matches, scoring two goals and providing two assists. In Chelsea's first match against Fulham, he scored just seconds into the game and assisted Cole Palmer for the winning goal.

Against his former club, Brighton & Hove Albion, he scored Chelsea's third goal in a thrilling 4-3 victory and assisted Palmer again for the decisive goal. His outstanding performances positioned him as one of the standout players in the Premier League's early weeks.

The other players shortlisted for the August award included Cole Palmer from Chelsea, Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United, Rayan Cherki from Manchester City, Riccardo Calafiori from Arsenal, Mamadou Sangare from Brentford, Konstantinos Tzolakis from Hull City, and Yoane Wissa from Newcastle United.
