Premiere Academy Students Win BE-TITANS with Solar Innovation

Students from Premiere Academy in Abuja emerged as winners of the BE-TITANS competition, a part of the annual Youth Eco Summit, with their innovative Smart Solar Mini Grid project. This project aims to tackle local energy challenges by providing a renewable energy solution tailored for underserved African communities.

The Smart Solar Mini Grid integrates a smart prepaid meter system and utilizes low-power hardware, ensuring efficient energy management without relying on constant internet connectivity. An eight-member panel of experts, including representatives from the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Association of Professional Women Engineers Nigeria, unanimously rated the project outstanding.

Mr. Chinedu Okoro, the team's mentor, highlighted the project's potential to transform energy provision in Nigeria and across Africa.

The school's principal, Mr. Chri Akinsowon, congratulated the students, emphasizing the institution's commitment to nurturing future leaders and promoting innovative solutions for a greener world.
