Abeokuta LG Boss Receives Distinguished Public Service Award

Dr. Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo, the Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, has been awarded the Distinguished Public Service Award by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR).

This recognition is part of the activities marking the 2026 United Nations Public Service Day, which celebrates excellence and innovation in public service. The award selection process involved a merit-based assessment and independent review, culminating in Dr.

Oyegbola Sodipo being chosen from a highly competitive pool of local government chairmen within the geopolitical zone. The award presentation is scheduled to take place on June 23, 2026, in Abuja, Nigeria, and will feature a lecture session in the morning followed by an award dinner in the evening.
