Nigeria to Host Global PR Forum in Abuja, 2026

The Nigerian Presidency has committed to supporting the Global Alliance World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), scheduled for November 15 to 21, 2026, in Abuja. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, made this pledge during a meeting with the WPRF Abuja 2026 Planning Committee, led by Dr. Ike Neliaku, President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

The conference is expected to attract approximately 3,000 delegates from 126 countries, focusing on the theme “Deepening Responsible Communications.” Onanuga expressed pride in Nigeria being selected as the host nation, emphasizing the opportunity to counter negative portrayals of the country. The forum will also feature Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema as the keynote speaker and honor President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with a Lifetime Award of Excellence in Reforms.

The Planning Committee, chaired by Dr. Suleiman Haruna, is working with media and security agencies to ensure a successful event, which will culminate in the signing of “The Abuja Declaration.”.
