Tinubu Orders Security Boost at NIPSS After Attack

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed an urgent security boost at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in response to an attack that led to the deaths of two soldiers and a policeman. During a speech on Friday, Tinubu conveyed condolences to the families of the fallen security personnel and reaffirmed the government's commitment to protecting national institutions.

He ordered the Director General of NIPSS, Professor Ayo Omotayo, to collaborate with the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Nigerian Police Force to fortify the institute's perimeter and implement a comprehensive action plan with a timeline for permanent security reinforcements. The President described NIPSS as a key national asset and emphasized that the attack aimed to instill fear and disrupt the training of future leaders.

He assured that the safety of NIPSS staff remains a non-negotiable priority and commended the calm and disciplined response of the institute's participants during the incident.
