Urgent Plea to Resettle Gwoza Refugees and IDPs Amid Boko Haram Crisis

A call has been made in Abuja to resettle 91,007 Gwoza refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have suffered due to the Boko Haram insurgency since 2013. The spokesperson for the affected group highlighted the plight of those displaced, urging the President to prioritize their repatriation and resettlement.

The stakeholders emphasized the need for transparency in utilizing allocated resources to ensure accountability and justice for the unlawfully detained. The plea extends to relevant government ministries and international organizations to facilitate the dignified return of the displaced individuals to their homes, alleviating their prolonged suffering and vulnerability.
