Obidient Movement Accuses APC of Corruption in Campaign

The Obidient Movement has publicly condemned the composition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election, accusing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration of abusing state institutions and rewarding individuals with corruption allegations. In a statement from its Media and Communications Directorate, the movement criticized the appointment of Dr Zacchaeus Adedeji, Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, as Deputy Director of Fundraising for the campaign, raising concerns about conflict of interest.

The group also highlighted the inclusion of individuals like former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, and Ngozi Olejeme, who have faced significant fraud allegations. The Obidient Movement claimed that political loyalty has taken precedence over accountability under the Tinubu administration, which has allegedly increased Nigeria’s debt burden while millions struggle with poverty and inflation.

They asserted that Nigerians would not accept institutional abuse ahead of the 2027 elections and would use their votes to enact change.
