Victims of Kidnapping in Kaiama and Borgu Released

On September 8, 2026, Sen Dr Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, the Hon Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, and various security agencies for their efforts in securing the release of kidnapped individuals from the communities of Woro, Konkonso, Pissa, and Kasuwan Daji. The abductions had caused significant distress in the affected areas, which share cultural and economic ties.

Abdullahi noted that the coordinated actions of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, DSS, and local vigilante groups led to the safe return of the victims, restoring hope and confidence in the communities. He also mentioned the establishment of a new 29 Brigade in Kainji-New Bussa to enhance security in the region and thanked traditional and religious leaders for their support during this crisis.
