Tinubu, Security Agencies Praised for Kidnap Victims' Release

Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and various security agencies for the successful release of victims kidnapped in communities within Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State and Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State. In a statement dated Sunday, August 9, 2026, Abdullahi expressed relief for the affected families and communities, acknowledging the swift intervention of the President, Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, and other security personnel.

He noted that the affected communities had been living in fear due to recent abductions. The safe return of the victims was attributed to coordinated efforts involving the Nigerian Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, and local vigilante groups.

Abdullahi emphasized the importance of collaboration among government, security agencies, and local communities in combating crime and announced plans to strengthen security in border areas, including the establishment of a new 29 Brigade in Kainji-New Bussa.
