Floyd Mayweather Plans Historic Boxing Event in Nigeria

Floyd Mayweather, the undefeated boxing legend, is set to return to Nigeria for a landmark boxing event proposed for 2027. This initiative is led by Nigerian-born boxing promoter Kean Ani, CEO of Frontrow Fight Series, who is collaborating with TMT Africa to bring Mayweather back to his motherland.

The event aims to be one of the largest sports entertainment spectacles in West Africa, following Mayweather's previous visit four years ago. The proposed bout will feature Mayweather against renowned kickboxer Mike Zambidis at the Telecom Center in Athens, Greece, in June 2026, as part of a global exhibition tour.

The tour will conclude with a mega fight event in Las Vegas in September 2026. Mayweather, who holds a professional boxing record of 50 wins and 0 losses, is expected to attract massive global attention, especially with rumors of a potential rematch against Manny Pacquiao.

Kean Ani envisions the Nigerian event as a cultural celebration that blends sports, entertainment, and tourism, showcasing Nigeria on the world stage.
