"Peace Fight Boxing Event Set for May 1 in Lagos"

The "Peace Fight," a boxing event, is set to take place on May 1 at Balmor Hall, located in the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event is promoted by Ezekiel Adamu, CEO of Balmor Group, and aims to address long-standing tensions between the Ijaw and Itsekiri communities in Nigeria.

The fight card will feature a World Boxing Organization (WBO) cruiserweight title bout, alongside entertainment from popular skit maker Carter Efe and controversial musician Portable. Adamu emphasized that the event is designed to promote peace and resolve conflicts through sports rather than violence, stating, "We don’t want to fight with guns or weapons anymore; we want to settle scores in the ring." The event is expected to showcase Nigeria's boxing talent to a global audience, with a structure of 50-50 contests to ensure competitive fairness.
