Radda Orders Renovation of Katsina NYSC Camp Facilities

Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has directed the state Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport to assess structural defects at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp for renovation, marking the first significant upgrade in 25 years. This directive was issued during the swearing-in of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members deployed to the state.

Radda emphasized his commitment to improving the camp's facilities and enhancing the welfare of corps members. He stated that after a comprehensive assessment, the state government would initiate a holistic renovation and remodeling of the camp.

Represented by the state Head of Service, Mr. Falalu Bawale, Radda acknowledged the current challenges faced at the camp and assured corps members of government support throughout their service year.

NYSC Coordinator Mr. Evans Okwor had previously appealed for intervention regarding the camp's dilapidated state, noting that the male hostel had not been renovated since its construction.

He praised the Radda administration for allocating additional funds for corps members' feeding.
