Sokoto NYSC Camp Renovation Reaches 80% Completion

Renovation works on the Sokoto NYSC permanent orientation camp have reached an 80% completion stage, as reported by project coordinator Murtala Halliru. The renovation, which is part of a N1.07 billion project awarded by the Sokoto State Government under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Aliyu, aims to upgrade facilities that have not seen major improvements since the camp's establishment by former governor Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

Murtala Halliru indicated that the contractor mobilized about one month ago and has made significant progress, with the scope of work including the renovation of hostels, kitchen and dining hall, clinic, administrative block, staff quarters, construction of a new pavilion, and upgrading the main auditorium to a 3,000 capacity. The project is set to last six months, with five months remaining for completion.

Halliru confirmed that the contractor is actively working on-site to meet the project timeline.
