Afemai Islamic Movement Launches Anti-Crime Blueprint

The Afemai Islamic Movement, under the leadership of Dr. Ismael Danesi, unveiled a comprehensive blueprint aimed at curbing organized crime during its 2026 annual Ramadan lecture held in Abuja.

The initiative is designed to promote moral reform and enhance national security by encouraging participation from all Nigerians, not just Muslims. The program addresses various forms of organized crime, including terrorism, kidnapping, cybercrime, oil theft, cultism, and armed robbery.

Keynote speaker Imam MMA Shuaib highlighted the profit-driven nature of organized crime and its global implications. The movement emphasizes the importance of moral teachings from Islam to safeguard society and prevent chaos.

It proposes a framework anchored in Islamic jurisprudence, focusing on accountability to God and promoting the protection of life, religion, intellect, and property. Additionally, the movement plans monthly gatherings to mentor youth and foster social cohesion beyond Ramadan, urging Nigerians to reflect on moral renewal during the holy month.
