Investment in Talents Urged at IDP Camps in Abuja

Ambassador Og Abbah made a statement during a humanitarian outreach program held at the Durumi IDP Camp in Abuja, where he called for investment in the talents of young men in internally displaced persons (IDP) camps. He emphasized the importance of mentorship as a transformative tool for the youth, particularly those from vulnerable communities affected by violence, such as those from Gwoza in Borno State.

Abbah, alongside Mr. Noni Okocha, co-founder of the Future Nigeria Youth Initiative, noted that many talented individuals lack access to mentorship and educational support.

The outreach event aimed to provide educational materials, scholarships, and support packages to children and families impacted by recent demolitions in the community. Abbah expressed concern over the rising violence and insecurity affecting communities across Nigeria, urging stakeholders to strengthen efforts to improve security and provide sustainable assistance to displaced communities.
