RAAMP Starts 50.73km Road Construction in Katsina

The Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) has initiated the construction of a 50.73-kilometre rural road in Katsina State, linking several communities across Katsina, Jibia, and Kaita Local Government Areas. The project, awarded to Mutual Commitment Company Limited (MCC) in December 2025, has an 18-month completion timeframe, with expectations to finish by August 2027.

The road will connect communities such as Dutsen Safe Low Cost, Yarkutungu, and others, improving transportation for farmers and traders. Residents have expressed relief, noting that the road will enhance access to healthcare, education, and markets, thereby boosting economic activities.

Site Manager Mr. Shuaibu Yahaya addressed concerns regarding a challenging section of the road, stating that precast concrete structures will be produced for installation after proper alignment. The project aims to alleviate transportation difficulties faced by rural communities, particularly during the rainy season.
