Governor Radda Launches N5.4bn Mashi Road Project

Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda officially launched the construction of a second lane to dualise the Mashi township road, located along the Katsina-Daura road in the Mashi local government area. The project, valued at N5.4 billion, involves a 3-kilometre road development and is expected to be completed within six months.

Governor Radda stated that the dualisation will ease traffic congestion, improve market access, reduce transportation costs, and foster a better business environment in Mashi town, which is a significant commercial hub in Katsina State. The project will also include drainage construction and the installation of solar-powered street lights.

Alhaji Sani Magaji, the state Commissioner of Works, emphasized that the project is part of the Urban Renewal program aimed at enhancing urban infrastructure. However, local resident Malam Abubakar expressed concerns about the need for drainage in Mashi town, citing flooding issues as a priority over road development.
