House of Representatives Dissolves All Ad Hoc Committees

The House of Representatives has officially dissolved all its ad hoc committees effective from Friday, August 28, 2026. This directive was communicated through a notice signed by the Clerk of the House, Sidi Ibrahim, and was made public on Saturday.

The dissolution follows previous calls for the committees to complete their assignments and submit reports within the designated timeframe. Only two committees had requested and received a two-week extension, which has since expired.

The notice emphasized that ad hoc committees are temporary and should not exist beyond their specific mandates. In accordance with Order Eighteen, Rule 11, Paragraph 5, of the Standing Orders of the House, committees are required to submit their reports within the allotted time.

The affected committee chairmen have been instructed to submit all outstanding reports, working documents, and materials to the Office of the Clerk for safekeeping.
